Make Room for Joy
Your free 7-day guide · 10 minutes a day
Here is your free guide. Everything you need is right on this page. Scroll down for all 7 days, one day at a time. Bookmark this page so you can come back each morning.
You make room for everyone else. This week, make room for you, and for a little joy.
How to use this guide
Pick a time you already have, like your first cup of coffee or right after the house gets quiet. Read the verse, do the practice, add the joy, and let one thing go. That’s it. Ten minutes.
Missed a day? Pick up wherever you are. There’s no falling behind here. This is practice, not perfection.
Tip: bookmark this page, or save it to your phone’s home screen, so it’s here each morning.
Day 1: Stillness
“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10 (KJV)
10 minutes: Sit down with your coffee. Read the verse slowly three times, take three slow breaths, and write one sentence to God.
One small joy: Use your favorite mug, and actually sit down to drink it.
Let it go: One notification or app that pulls at you first thing.
Day 2: Gladness
“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24 (KJV)
10 minutes: Write down three small good things from yesterday. Thank God for each one.
One small joy: Play a favorite hymn or worship song while you do a chore.
Let it go: One “should” on today’s list.
Day 3: Your body
“They shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
10 minutes: A 10-minute walk outside, or a gentle chair stretch if the weather or your body says no.
One small joy: Notice three beautiful things while you move.
Let it go: The idea that it only counts if it’s a “real workout.”
Day 4: Rest
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 (KJV)
10 minutes: Tonight: phone down 30 minutes before bed, lights low, one verse, and a short prayer.
One small joy: Warm socks, a cup of tea, or a favorite blanket.
Let it go: One late-night task that can wait until tomorrow.
Day 5: People you love
“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.” Proverbs 17:22 (KJV)
10 minutes: Call or text one friend, just to say thank you or to laugh about something.
One small joy: Share a funny memory.
Let it go: Waiting for a “free day” to reach out.
Day 6: The table
“O taste and see that the LORD is good.” Psalm 34:8 (KJV)
10 minutes: Sit down for one meal. Add a protein, something colorful, and something you love. Say grace slowly.
One small joy: Use the good dishes, just because.
Let it go: Eating standing up.
Day 7: What’s next
“To every thing there is a season.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 (KJV)
10 minutes: Look back at your week. Circle the day that felt best. Pick one practice to keep.
One small joy: Do one thing just for fun today.
Let it go: The pressure to do it all perfectly.
